Curiosity is lit before any content arrives. The teacher provokes, the children wonder aloud, and what they already know (and misbelieve) surfaces.
Ms. Kaur pins a giant map of Panipat on the wall next to photos: a jammed GT Road crossing, an overflowing drain, a rare patch of green. She asks one question and then stays quiet: "Would you design our city this way?"

Aman, Grade 4 · Tuning InNow the class becomes a research team. New information is gathered first-hand: interviews, field visits, surveys, books, data. Not from one textbook, but from the world.
Groups fan out. One interviews a municipal engineer. One surveys forty parents on commute times. One counts vehicles at a crossing for fifteen minutes and turns it into a tally chart. Mathematics has quietly entered the room, and nobody called it a maths period.

Riya, Grade 4 · Finding OutRaw information becomes understanding. Children organise, compare, graph, and debate what their findings actually mean.
The tally charts become bar graphs. The interviews become a "problems wall" sorted into traffic, water, waste, and green space. The class discovers that most complaints cluster in the oldest parts of the city, and starts asking why.

Sana, Grade 4 · Sorting OutEach child follows the thread that grips them personally. Inquiry branches: some go deep on one problem, some compare Panipat with other cities, some challenge the findings.
Aarav researches how Chandigarh was planned on a grid. Riya designs a rainwater system for her own street. A sceptic group re-runs the traffic count on a different day to test whether the first data was fair. That is scientific method, self-inflicted.

Aarav, Grade 4 · Going FurtherChildren step back and reflect: What do we now understand that we didn't before? How has our thinking changed? Conclusions are argued from evidence, not copied from a board.
Each child writes and presents a claim: "Panipat's biggest planning problem is X, because..." They must cite their own data. Ms. Kaur pushes back gently on weak evidence, and the class learns the difference between an opinion and a supported conclusion.
