We use narrative assessment in place of marks: portfolios of student work, teacher observation, student self-reflection, exhibitions, and three-way conferences. Families receive detailed written feedback on conceptual understanding, thinking skills, collaboration, character, and progress toward goals, with formal reports twice a year.
Assessment follows IB MYP criterion-based rubrics: subject-specific achievement levels with detailed feedback against international standards, communicated clearly to families each term.
We use the four dimensions of assessment set out by the IB PYP: monitoring, documenting, measuring and reporting on learning. The PYP places particular emphasis on monitoring and documenting, because these provide the most actionable feedback for a learner. Monitoring happens daily through observation, questioning, reflection and discussion. Documenting uses learning logs, portfolios, learning stories, exemplars, checklists and rubrics co-constructed with students, and anecdotal notes.
Pre-assessment uncovers prior knowledge before new learning begins. Formative assessment runs continuously through a unit in a supportive, nonthreatening environment. Peer and self-assessment place students at the centre of the process, building metacognitive awareness. Summative assessment at the end of a unit measures conceptual understanding of the central idea.
Written reports are shared twice a year, at the end of semester one and the end of the year, through Toddle. Reporting uses a four-point descriptor scale: Excelling (4), Achieving (3), Developing (2) and Beginning (1). Families also engage through celebrations of learning, e-portfolios, three-way conferences, and student-led conferences where students from Nursery to Grade 5 guide their parents through a 30-minute session about their own learning.
Students learn to acknowledge sources, produce their own work, and be honest about what they don't yet understand. Breaches are addressed through restorative conversation focused on understanding and better choices.
The Assessment Policy steering committee comprises the Head of School, the PYP Coordinator and facilitators, and reviews the policy at the beginning of every academic year.
Infinia World School believes that language is a vital medium for learning, communication and expression. Language is fundamental to all teaching and learning and permeates the entire curriculum. Through language we promote intercultural awareness, sharing and respecting different perspectives, and accepting diversity. All teachers are language teachers.
English is the language of instruction and the school's official operational language, used in administration, signage, publications, and communication between school and families. Hindi is taught as the host country language, connecting students to local culture, heritage and community. French is offered as an additional language from PYP 1 to PYP 5.
In Early Years (EY 1 to EY 3) students learn English and Hindi. From PYP 1 to PYP 5 they study all three, a trilingual approach that promotes multilingualism and intercultural understanding. Around 70 percent of our students come from families where English and Hindi are spoken at home.
Every student can access the curriculum regardless of language proficiency. Support includes explanation and scaffolding in Hindi, modified assignments and assessments, visual aids and graphic organisers, peer support, one-on-one or small group sessions during and after class, simplified language structures, and additional time for tasks. Bilingual bridging helps students use their stronger language as a foundation for English. The decision to provide additional support is made through consultation between teachers, parents, the programme coordinator and the head of school.
We promote mother-tongue development through phonics, reading and writing activities, storytelling through translation, and vocabulary building, and we encourage families to keep speaking, reading and writing their language at home. We celebrate International Mother Language Day, where parents share facts, poetry and stories from their languages and students perform in their mother tongue.
Language is assessed in three areas: oral communication (speaking and listening), visual communication (processing and conveying ideas in forms that can be seen), and written language (reading and writing). Assessment is continuous, through classroom observation, written assignments, projects and tests, with written progress reports twice a year.
Infinia operates a positive discipline model. Students are expected to show respect for self, others, and property; take responsibility for their choices; and resolve conflict peacefully.
When things go wrong, we use restorative conversations: understanding impact, collaborative problem-solving, and making amends. Consequences are educational, never humiliating. Corporal punishment is never used, in any form, under any circumstances.
Zero tolerance for bullying, harassment, or discrimination of any kind. Every report is investigated promptly, with support for all children involved and follow-up to prevent recurrence.
Regular attendance is essential to inquiry-based learning, which builds day on day. Families are contacted when absences accumulate, and support plans are made where needed. Planned absences for family events, medical care, or religious observance are authorised with advance notice.
Current immunisation records and health screening forms are required at enrolment. Children with medical conditions must have a management plan on file; medication is administered only by trained staff with written parent consent.
The campus maintains secure access with visitor screening, verified staff background checks, regular emergency drills, and clear child protection and safeguarding procedures. Children with contagious illness return only when fever-free for 24 hours without medication or cleared by a doctor.

We differentiate learning through multiple ways to access material and demonstrate understanding, flexible grouping, scaffolding for children who need support, and extension for those who need challenge.
Technology serves inquiry, not the other way around. Students use school devices for learning purposes, protect their own and others' privacy, and practise kindness online. School devices remain school property and are monitored for compliance with acceptable use.
Families hear from us through the parent portal, teacher messages, newsletters, three-way conferences, and school events. Concerns follow a simple ladder: class teacher first, then coordinator, then administration, then the Director. Most concerns are resolved within a week.
The full fee structure, payment schedule, and refund terms are provided in the enrolment agreement and discussed transparently during admissions. Withdrawal requires thirty days' written notice.
